Tearful Sachin pays homage to Sathya Sai Baba

Sachin, a devout Sathya Sai devotee, was accompanied by his wife Anjali. He was seen weeping as he sat cross-legged beside the body of Sathya Sai Baba. The cricketer sat shoulder to shoulder with hordes of the guru's devotees.Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar visited Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh on Monday to get a last glimpse of the mortal remains of Sathya Sai Baba and pay homage to the revered spiritual guru.
On Sunday, as news of Sathya Sai's death reached Hyderabad, the captain of IPL's Mumbai Indians team had confined himself to his room in the team hotel in the city. Reports said that Sachin refused to meet even his team mates and kept a 'do not disturb' sign on his door.
He will continue to guide and inspire us: GavaskarEarlier, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had visited Puttaparthi along with his family to pay obeisance to the departed godman on Sunday. Gavaskar, a staunch follower of Sai Baba, had visited the Sai Kulwant Hall for a darshan of his body.
Gavaskar later said that Sathya Sai Baba would continue to reside in his heart for ever. "He has left his physical form but he will live in our hearts permanently. He will continue to guide and inspire us despite the fact that his physical form is no more," he said.
Another cricketer and Sachin's team mate in the Indian Test squad, V.V.S. Laxman was also expected to visit Puttaparthi on Monday.
Sai Baba will return in one form some day: YuvrajCricketer Yuvraj Singh expressed his sorrow over the demise of Sathya Sai Baba by tweeting on micro-blogging site.
"Very sad to know Sai Baba has passed away. May his great soul rest in peace! I'm sure he will return in one form some day," Yuvraj tweeted.
Puttaparthi has witnessing a sea of humanity converging for the last glimpse of Sathya Sai Baba. Apart from devotees from all across the country, his followers have been pouring in from overseas as well. VVIPs, including politicians and cricketers, have been making a beeline for Puttaparthi.
Sathya Sai Baba's body will be buried close to his Yajur Mandir residence on Wednesday.
